4WD Safety Check in Ellenbrook | Toyota Hilux Brake Failure Resolved
A recent job at Prime Euro Services highlights the importance of proper modifications and routine checks—especially when it comes to vehicle safety. A Toyota Hilux was brought into our Ellenbrook workshop with a critical issue: the brake pedal had completely failed.
Upon inspection, our team quickly identified the problem. The Hilux had previously been lifted, but the brake lines had not been extended to accommodate the increased height. Even more concerning, the brake line brackets were not securely bolted in. Over time, the constant vibration and movement led to a pinhole leak in one of the lines, slowly draining all the brake fluid from the system.
This wasn’t just a performance issue—it was a serious safety risk. Without brake fluid, the hydraulic brake system becomes non-functional, leaving the driver with no braking capability.
To resolve the issue, we removed the damaged brake lines and replaced them with high-quality, extended lines suitable for the lifted suspension. We also securely mounted all brackets to prevent any future movement or wear. After a full brake system bleed and safety inspection, the Hilux was back on the road, fully functional and safe for everyday driving or off-road adventures.
This case is a reminder that modifications—especially suspension lifts—need to be done properly, with all supporting components upgraded and installed correctly.
