European Car Servicing FAQs
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm. Saturday, 7am to 12 noon. Closed Sundays.
If you cannot get here inside those hours, there is an after hours drop off box. Leave the car and the key, and we will ring you before we start anything.
Do I need to book?
Booking is best, but it is not the only way in.
You can ring us on (08) 6296 3894, send an email, or just walk in. There is also an after hours drop off box if none of those suit.
Booking ahead means we can have the right parts on the shelf when your car arrives, which usually means you get it back sooner.
How can I pay?
Visa, Mastercard, or bank transfer.
Do you offer a courtesy car?
No, we do not have courtesy or loan cars.
We would rather tell you that up front than have you arrive expecting one. If you need to be somewhere, let us know when you book and we will work out the timing with you.
Do you warranty your work?
Yes. We warranty our own parts and labour for 12 months.
That is on top of your rights under Australian Consumer Law, which apply no matter what any workshop tells you.
Is there a fee for diagnostics?
Diagnostic work is charged at $170 per hour including GST.
That pays for the scan tools, the manufacturer software subscriptions, and the time it takes to find the actual fault rather than guess at it. Guessing is what makes a repair bill grow.
We will tell you what we found and what it costs to fix before we go any further.
Do you work on electric cars?
Yes. We do EV servicing and yearly inspections.
We have had Teslas through the workshop for their routine yearly inspection. If you are not sure whether your car is something we can take, ring us and ask.
Do you do ECU tuning or remapping?
We can arrange engine ECU remapping, but we subcontract that work to a specialist rather than doing it in house.
Everything else on the performance side, including exhaust, intake, suspension and brakes, we do ourselves.
Worth knowing before you go ahead: a remap can affect your manufacturer warranty. Ask us and we will give you the straight answer for your car.
Will my digital service record be updated?
Yes. We update the manufacturer's online digital service book, for all manufacturers.
That matters more than it used to. Most European makes stopped using a paper stamp years ago, and the digital record is what a dealer or a future buyer will look at.
We also keep our scan tool and manufacturer software subscriptions current, so we can write to those systems properly.
Will servicing my car at Prime Euro Services void my new car warranty?
No. You can have your new car serviced by an independent workshop and keep your factory warranty. That is your right under Australian Consumer Law, and you do not have to go back to the dealer.
The ACCC has said this plainly. A car maker cannot force you to service at their dealer to keep your warranty valid, unless they are doing that servicing for free. Your consumer guarantees apply either way.
What does matter is that the service is done properly. We work to the manufacturer's schedule for your exact car, use the right parts and fluids, and record what was done. That is what protects you if you ever need to make a claim.
Two published examples: a Porsche Cayman 987S logbook service and full inspection, and a Mercedes A180 logbook service with a major inspection and diagnostic health check. We have also carried out the very first service on a new BMW M550i, using BMW parts and BMW's own procedures.
Do you use genuine parts?
Yes. We use genuine parts, or quality parts that meet or beat the manufacturer's specification. Whichever it is, it is on your quote before we start.
Some published jobs: a genuine Volkswagen PCV valve on a Golf MK7 R. BMW parts and BMW procedures on a new M550i first service. A genuine tailshaft donut on an Audi S3. Parts that meet or exceed OEM standards on a Mercedes GLC rear brake job.
Sometimes a good aftermarket part is the smarter call on price or availability. That is your decision to make, not ours to make quietly. Ask and we will explain the difference.
Are you cheaper than the dealer?
European cars are what we work on every day. That is what you are paying for. The fault gets found properly the first time, instead of parts being swapped until something changes.
We quote before we start, so you can compare the actual job instead of a slogan. You approve the quote, then we do the work. If we find something extra once the car is apart, we stop and ring you first.
That is how a 2013 BMW X6 was handled. It was towed in with a stuck electric handbrake and a rough running engine. We diagnosed it before anyone spent money on parts, and found two separate faults: an internal fault in the handbrake module, and a failed number 6 injector.
Do you only work on European cars?
No. European cars are what we specialise in, but we service everyday cars, utes, vans and 4WDs as well.
Published examples: a Toyota Corolla logbook service and diagnostic health check. A Toyota Hilux brought in with total brake pedal failure, caused by a lift kit fitted without extending the brake lines. A Subaru WRX suspension upgrade. A Ford Everest full service with a transfer case fluid flush. A Jeep Grand Cherokee with a completely clogged intake. We also look after vans and work vehicles.
Where are you, and which suburbs do you cover?
We are at 3/37 The Broadway, Ellenbrook WA 6069. We are a local workshop for Ellenbrook and the surrounding Swan Valley suburbs, and we look after cars from right across the Perth metro area.
That includes Ellenbrook, Aveley, Brabham, Henley Brook, Dayton, The Vines, Upper Swan, Bullsbrook, Caversham, Midland and the wider Swan Valley.
